Course Information

5 Mile COURSE
The 33nd Annual Utica Roadrunners Summer Sizzle 5 Mile Road Race is going back to its roots at Proctor Park in Utica, New York, and will be held on Father's Day, June 21, 2020. The race is a Utica Roadrunners Grand Prix event. Besides age group awards, there are also awards for a two-person family team competition of the following categories: Mother/Daughter, Father/Son, Mother/Son, Brother/Brother, Sister/Sister, Sister/Brother, Father/Daughter, and Husband/Wife. Race day registration and number pickup is from 7:00-8:45. There will also be a half mile kids run at 8:30.

New this year, the Summer Sizzle will be a part of the first ever Utica Roadrunners Four Race Challenge. Each runner that participates in the following races will have a one-time registration fee and they will also receive customized hoodie to commemorate the accomplishment. The events included are the Save Our Switchbacks 7.5K, the Summer Sizzle 5 Mile, the Falling Leaves 5K or 14K, and the Deerfield Skeleton Run 5K. By registering once for the 2019 Utica Roadrunners 4 Race Challenge you will be entered into each of the associated events.

The first 120 registered runners will receive a free t-shirt. Shirts are women’s or men’s specific cuts. Runners are encouraged to preregister for the proper size. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed.

Pre-registration through June 1, 2019:
$33.00 for Utica Roadrunners Members
$35.00 for Non-Members Pre-registration

Registration from June 2 through June 20, 2020:
$38.00 for Utica Roadrunners Members
$40.00 for Non-Members -No refunds-

Day Of: Registration is 7:00-8:45 am at TR Proctor Park, Utica (main entrance off of Culver Ave., concession area pavilion)

Volunteers

Volunteers are also needed race day in the areas of set-up, packet pickup, registration, traffic control, water stops, post-race refreshments, finish line, and clean up. All volunteers will also receive a Summer Sizzle Volunteer T-Shirt. To volunteer email race director Jim Mott.

Awards

Awards will be given to the first three female and male finishers in the following divisions (no duplicate awards):

• Overall
• 18 and Under
• 19-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60-69
• 70+

Special team awards will be awarded for the fastest combined times in the following Family categories (ONLY ONE TEAM PER ENTRANT!):

• Mother/Daughter
• Father/Son
• Sister/Sister
• Brother/Brother
• Sister/Brother
• Mother/Son
• Father/Daughter
• Husband/Wife

The ceremony will begin as soon as possible following the conclusion of the race.
